Usually, pre-purchase inspections are done in our workshop – we collect the bike on a trailer, deliver it to our workshop, conduct the inspection, write the report, and deliver the bike back to the owner. The bike is covered by our insurance whilst in our care.

Where the owner will not permit you to take the bike away, we will perform an inspection in-situ, but this will necessarily be a less comprehensive examination.

Please note that certain items are not readily examinable e.g. spark plugs, valve clearances  etc and we therefore recommend that a major service  is completed immediately after purchase to ensure that these aspects are correctly maintained. 

If a customer buys a machine after a pre-purchase inspection, and opts to have a full service after the inspection we will credit 50% of the price of the inspection against the pending service costs.

For bikes within 2 miles of the workshop, we charge  2 hours labour for a pre-purchase inspection. For  further distances, please contact us.
